GREAT LINFORD MANOR PARK
CLIENT : THE PARKS TRUST
We worked with the Parks Trust in Milton Keynes, alongside landscape architects and the in-house team, to integrate imaginative interpretation into their masterplan for Great Linford Manor Park. With history dating back until Saxon times and remnants of Wilderness and Water Gardens from the 17th and 19th century, there were many layers to reveal. Our task was to bring story-telling and playfulness to the scheme, which we did with a commissioned alphabet trail laid out to aid trail wayfinding, sculptural commissions and a ‘Ghost Building’, at which visitors align an etched drawing with sculpted elements to imagine a lost structure in the landscape. The project was shortlisted and Highly Commended in the Interpretation Outdoors category at 2023’s Association for Heritage Interpretation Awards.
